2014 Toyota Corolla LE Eco Review

Environmental friendliness is becoming more and more important, and the 2014 Toyota Corolla LE Eco takes that into account. This compact sedan was specifically designed to get an impressive fuel economy, both to reduce the planet’s use of fossil fuels and to help you save money on gas.

The standard engine in the Toyota Corolla LE is a 1.8-liter gas four-cylinder engine, but it is unique from the others in that it is a Valvematic. This means that it uses new technology that allows it to increase horsepower as well as fuel economy. At the moment, you will only find this unique engine in the Corolla LE Eco, making it truly special.

All LE Ecos are variations of the Toyota Corolla LE trim. When you opt for the Eco, however, you will get three sub-trims: the Corolla LE Eco, Corolla LE Eco Plus, and Corolla LE Eco Premium. As you increase the trim level, you will find more features, making your drive more comfortable.

Fuel Economy

The biggest pull for most people when it comes to the 2014 Toyota Corolla LE Eco is its excellent fuel economy. You can get 30 miles per gallon in the city on all trim levels of the LE Eco. The LE Eco Plus and Premium get 40 mpg on the highway*, while the LE Eco gets 42. To increase your fuel economy even more, opt for the LE Eco Plus or Premium and press the button to enter Eco Mode. This will increase fuel efficiency by regulating gas input and has the added benefit of making the ride less jerky.

All versions of the 2014 Toyota Corolla LE Eco have a USB/iPod connection, auxiliary audio input jack, hands-free calling, Bluetooth, cruise control, air conditioning with climate control, keyless entry, a rearview camera, and more. If you move up to the LE Eco Plus, you will get fog lights as well as the option to add HD radio, satellite radio, navigation system, and/or keyless ignition. When you get to the last trim level, the LE Eco Premium, you get even more standard features, such as power seats and heated/cooled seats. Keep in mind that Eco Mode is only available in the LE Eco Plus and LE Eco Premium trims.

Interior Space

As the LE Eco is one of the possible trims for the 2014 Toyota Corolla, you can expect it to be incredibly roomy on the inside. Despite being a compact sedan, the LE Eco (like all other 2014 Corollas), has excellent headroom, shoulder room, hip room, and legroom. In fact, the rear legroom is an impressive 41.4 inches, which is around 5 inches more than you will get from any compact other than a Toyota Corolla.
