Earlier this year, the Toyota Highlander was unveiled at the New York Auto Show as an all-new 2014 model. Addressing previous concerns of its clientele, there is a lot of positive things to be said on this 2014 Toyota Highlander review. Among the many changes to the third-generation SUV, include a restyled body, and better cargo and passenger capacity. The result of which is a better option for soccer moms who want a family vehicle as pretty as the Highlander. But the question left is, how well built is it?
Compared to previous models, interior on the 2014 Toyota Highlander have been redone and exchanged with the use of soft-touch surface materials. Around the dash and doors of the car are ambient lighting that play a dramatic effect on the vehicle. It comes standard with Entune System, and optional features like a blind spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. The addition of a third row seating gives the Highlander more seating capacity of up to eight passengers total.
Performance stays the same as last year’s model– with engine options such as a 2.7-liter, 3.5-liter, or a V6 option; with the base capable of producing 187 horsepower. Equipped with a front-drive powertrim, the option to upgrade to an all-wheel-drive is limited to the V6 only.
Driver safety is not a problem with the 2014 Toyota Highlander as it comes equipped with useful safety tech options such as a blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, front pre-collision monitoring system, and a lane departure detection.
Apart from the ones mentioned, the new SUV comes with some very useful features that make driving it an exciting experience. These features include Smart Key, Auto Cruise Control, heated and ventilated front seats, automatic high beams, heated steering wheel, and a heated second-row captain’s seats.
The good thing about getting this SUV is that it equips its trims with almost the same functional features, such as the Entune connectivity kit, premium cloth interiors, and Bluetooth connectivity.
