Petty’s BBQ
Petty’s BBQ is located at 1104 Kathey Drive in Killeen. It’s a family-owned barbecue spot that prepares and serves all of its dishes with love and care. Meats are smoked to perfection, sauce is the perfect blend of tang and spice, and sides like potato salad, mac and cheese, pinto beans, and fried cabbage are memorably delicious. “Feels like a charming small-town barbecue joint,” says one review. And another: “My family and I just moved to Killeen and we have been craving some real Texas food. Petty’s is just that, real Texas BBQ.”
Rudy’s Bar-B-Q
So, if you want to get technical, Rudy’s Bar-B-Q isn’t exclusive to Killeen. But this restaurant is so good we just couldn’t leave it off our list. Located at 5621 East Central Texas Expressway, Rudy’s prides itself on deliciously prepared brisket, pork, chicken, and sausage. Sides are delicious as well, with varied offerings like three-bean salad, cream corn, new potatoes, and green chile stew satisfying any palate. Says one reviewer, “I would have taken pictures, but it was too good to stop eating to pick up my phone.”
