Plan A Visit To The Bell County Museum This Summer

Bell County Museum

Summer days just move slower, don’t they? With school out and only so much going on, it’s very easy to find yourself or your kids in a routine of watching TV or movies from sunup to sundown. The Bell County Museum might be a new option for you and your family to throw into the mix on those long, boring days.

What You Need To Know

The museum, located at 201 N. Main, Belton, Texas 76513, is free to enter for anyone. Grab your kids, and even their friends, and load up the car for some free educational opportunities! Hours are 12 pm – 5 pm on Tuesday – Friday, 10 am – 5 pm on Saturday, and closed Sundays and Mondays.

There are always fun, free events going on, so be sure to check back here to make sure you aren’t missing out on those!

What To Expect

The Bell County Museum has several permanent exhibits on display and one traveling display that will be up until August 11. If you’re quick, you can catch Backstage Pass: The Early Years of Rolling Stone. This exhibit takes a look at Rolling Stone magazine covers throughout the ages. The goal behind it is to show how those covers shaped an entire culture and era in that period of rock-n-roll.

The three permanent displays, Passport Through Time, The Gault Site: A Wealth of New Archaeological Evidence, and Little River Log Cabin each explore a different little piece of history. Get ready to learn!

How You Can Come Back

If you and your family had the best day imaginable and are already wondering how you could come back again soon, have no fear! The Bell County Museum leads groups on field trips. The staff will give tours to anyone of any age and offers STEM activities along the way.

These field trips don’t cost the school, so it’s worth mentioning as a suggestion! They just need to know two weeks in advance. Fill out a form if you are interested.

Don’t let that summer boredom get you or your family down. Get everyone out of the house to learn and have a great day at the Bell County Museum.
