It’s summertime. All your little ones want to do is go out and play, but you have to make sure you’re doing it safely. Luckily for you, there are a ton of fun ways you can get outside to enjoy the fresh air during this time of year. Check out some fun games you can play with your little ones when you head into the great outdoors, and you’re sure to have a lot of fun for the rest of the summer. Here are some simple ideas.
Organize a Scavenger Hunt
This is going to require some set-up from the adults, but it’s worth the time. Hide some objects around your backyard, a park, or some other outdoor space. Then write down some clues that will help the kids find it. Of course, you can adjust the difficulty depending on how old your kids are. This one is sure to keep your kids entertained for a long time.
Badminton
Perhaps one of the best social distancing activities you can do is play badminton. This classic game is easy to set up right in your backyard, and buying a set usually doesn’t cost that much. Think tennis, but on the grass and with a birdie instead of a ball. While it’s a game that the adults are sure to enjoy a lot, it’s also something easy for the kids to get into as well.
Hide and Seek
Hide and seek is one of those childhood games that just about everyone has played. That makes sense because it’s also a lot of fun. You might think of it as an indoor game, but that’s not always the case – you can play outside as well. If you’re playing with people outside your family, make sure not to get too close to them, and you should be good to go.

Follow the Leader
Love hiking? You’re not alone. But sometimes, it can be challenging to get your kids as excited about hiking as you are. One way to make it more fun for them is to turn it into a game of follow the leader. The leader gets to choose where the group goes, and they can also get the rest of the group to make silly faces, dance, take certain steps, or whatever else the leader wants to do. Just make sure you take turns.
