Starting at the beginning of this month, Toyota is putting it’s cars where it counts – in the hands of groups across the country that a doing good. From October 1st to November 19th, voters  get to chime in and vote for their favorite organizations and causes, with the winners being awarded a new Toyota to help them go the distance.

As proud members of the Texas community, Toyota of Killeen wants to encourage you to get out the vote for the great Texas charities that are a part of this project. Groups like Creative Action and Drive a Senior are making an impact across our state and in our communities, and by supporting groups like these in their efforts to do good, we in turn, get a community that’s stronger and more capable than before.

Creative Action

A 2012 Finalist for the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award, Creative Action was started in 1997 by four graduate students in the UT Drama and Theatre for Youth Program. Dedicated to violence prevention they toured Austin campuses to spread their message and promote the program under the name Theatre Action Project. As they grew through the years, they developed into an organization that is dedicated to “spark and support the academic, social and emotional development of young people.”

Drive a Senior

“Drive a Senior Network is a collaboration of Faith in Action interfaith volunteer programs in the Austin Metropolitan Area.  Network groups work together to provide services that enhance the independence and quality of life for senior adults in the Austin Metropolitan Area.” Recognizing the challenges that senior citizens face, this group  of staff and volunteers help Austin’s senior population with errands, shopping, minor home repair, yard work, medical-related destinations and more.
