2016 Toyota Tacoma DenisonThe Toyota Tacoma has been bringing a practical truck to Americans for years, and the 2016 model shows that even great vehicles can be improved. To help spread the word about the Tacoma, the team at Toyota is introducing the Canadian market to the truck first via sneak peaks in the Tacoma Tour 2016. This tour gives drivers around the world a better idea of what to expect from the next version of this powerful and capable pickup.

Toyota is excited about the new Tacoma, with the Canadian representatives stating that this is a superior addition to the lineup of trucks and that they expect the pickup to exceed customer expectations.

Trims and Options

You can expect to find four different trim levels available on the 2016 Toyota Tacoma, and these include the new TRD Sport, the top option. In addition, drivers will be able to select from a regular or crew cab as well as 4×2 or 4×4.

Powertrain

The current 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine will still be the standard choice for the 2016 Tacoma. There is also the optional 3.5-liter Atkinson cycle V6 engine, a powertrain that generates 270 horsepower. Although we know that you can drive a 6-speed manual or the new 6-speed automatic, the towing and fuel consumption numbers haven’t been released.

The competition for the 2016 Toyota Tacoma will remain similar to in previous years, including the RAM 1500, 2016 Ridgeline, 2015 Nissan Frontier, and 2016 Chevrolet Colorado. Despite heavy competition, the team at Toyota of Killeen in Killeen, Texas, believes that drivers will pick the Tacoma for its great features, performance, and options.
